A Person After God's Own Heart
God wants His people to do His will. He wants you to be a person after His own heart. Remember how God removed King Saul from the throne of Israel after Saul disobeyed and put David on the throne in his place. There's a lesson there for all of us. God was pleased with David, and testified about him: "I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do." (Acts 13:22).
God wants you to pray for the things He wants for you. He wants you to pray for the things that are in His will. You know that the Bible is God's story, His will for you and your life. It has His promises for your life, His commands and directions for the way you should live. When you pray with God's word, you are praying God's will.
Jesus said, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." (John 15:7). This means that when you are obedient and pray for the things that God desires for you, He will open the windows of Heaven and pour those things out to you.
Bringing God's Word into Prayer
My name is Richard Chamberlain, and I am the creator of the Praying His Word prayer system. I'm not a pastor or Bible scholar. I'm just like you - a regular person trying to live my life in a way that pleases God.
